Connectors

connectorspageConnectors form the core of Parallel Community - key volunteers who help coordinate and organise on a local, regional or national basis.

You might already run or be a key part of an existing group or network which you wish to affiliate with Parallel Community, or you might wish to start or help start a group or network in your locality or your area of interest, in 'real life' or online.

Your role is to connect Parallel Community with a wider group of people in your area or with a network with a specific area of interest.

You can also work 'horizontally' to connect disparate groups which might benefit from knowing each other. You can work 'vertically' by connecting peoplke in your area or interest-group with the Parallel Community, and vice versa.

Your group or network can have any number of people - a few people discussing things or working on something, or thousands with a similar interest or agenda. What binds us together is that, in a wide variety of ways, we're all committed to helping humanity and our planet correct the mess we're all in, bringing a fundamental change to the world during the 21st Century.

Somehow we need to find new structures, new ways of going on, which perhaps are outside politics, outside religion, outside the institutions that we now have. - John Watts

The more connectors we have, the stronger the voice to build and promote this revitalised way of thinking and living, and the more we each can support each other in doing what we're doing.

It's a holistic exchange and feed-around system which works in all directions. The Parallel Community core team is here to coordinate the overall life of the organism, but we're not directing it and we're only partially driving it. It's also driven by connectors and supporters, between each other and with the core team. It's happening in a number of countries, growing in an organic, cellular way.

connectors-packIn order to assist you with connecting people up, we have packs of lapel badges, window stickers, leaflets, postcards and letterheads available to help you get started. There is a small investment of 10 GBP involved to help cover for the overhead costs.  The Connectors Pack can also be ordered and paid via PayPal.

It is possible to order separate items - click here!

We will provide connectors with regular news about events and happenings across the world to enable them to create links to other groups in their own way. Connectors may also provide such information themselves, on this site.

Many hands make light work. A key aim of Parallel Community is to share skills, contacts and gifts, to help everyone make progress more easily, and to add power to their actions.

View, create and maintain a Connector Group

Once you have become a Connector in the Parallel Community, you can join the Connector Group for your country. If there is none for your country yet, you can create a new Connector group (if you wish). Creating a Group involves moderating this group in terms of accepting and inviting new members and moderating the discussion threads in your Group. Before you accept a member request to join your Connector group, please make sure they are already registered as a Connector in the Connector Directory.
If you think your time will be short, or if you don't want to be the group moderator, ask an Administrator if they are willing to moderate the group for you.
The idea behind a country's Connector Group is that the Connectors can exchange information with other Connectors from their own country - it is a meeting place where Connectors can talk amongst each other, get to know who's where and what are they doing.

Besides your own country's Connector Group, please also join the Worldwide Connector Group where you will find Parallel Community's announcements and news and information that is especially meant for Connectors.
