These photos were taken by Palden between 2005 and 2009 in a variety of places including Cornwall, the Somerset Levels, Wales, Wiltshire, the Sahara Desert, the West Bank of Palestine and Kalymnos in Greece.

They can be used as an inspiring slideshow, a decorative screensaver on a computer or in a digital picture viewer. You can change to another collection whenever you wish. Do enjoy!

There are eight collections:

Animal Beingnesses (critters Palden has met on his photographic adventures)

West Penwith (where the Parallel Community started, in Cornwall, UK)

Somewhere called Planet Earth (scenes from a strange and wonderful world)

Palestine (ordinary life in a walled-in land)

Sacred Sites (impressions of ancient sites and crop formations in southern Britain)

Sahara (the Sahara Desert and the Bedouin of Tunisia)

Treviscoe (the delightful gardens of Hamish & Ba Miller, founders of the Parallel Community)

Waterlands (the wetlands of the Somerset Levels, near Glastonbury, Palden's former home).

How to set up the CD as a screensaver

These instructions are also in an introductory file on the CD

Windows XP: copy the folders on the CD to My Pictures in My Documents. Then go to the Desktop, right click, select Properties, then Screen Saver (or use Control Panel and Display). Select the screen saver 'My Pictures Slideshow', then click 'Settings', then Browse, and find the screensaver you fancy. Twiddle any other settings to taste (recommended: 100% of screen, 12 seconds, enable transitions). Or view the pictures as a slideshow by using Windows Picture Viewer or any equivalent program.

Mac OS X: copy the four folders inside the folder 1024 or 1280 to your Pictures folder. Go to System Preferences/ Desktop & Screen Saver and choose the Screen Saver tab at the top. Click on <Choose Folder> in the scrolling menu on the left hand side of the window. Find the folders you have saved on your Pictures folder, and choose one by clicking on it. (You will find that if you use two monitors, you will get different pictures on each!) Enjoy!
