The Parallel Community

About Us

Our experience is that the world is full of loving, caring people who thoroughly enjoy each other's company, and who experience quiet, deep peace in their appreciation of the natural and spiritual worlds. We invite you to come with us and help us do positive things to bring back the simple joys of living and laughing - Hamish.

Founder: Hamish Miller

Hamish Miller founded the Parallel Community and passed away on 25th January 2010. A Scotsman by origin, he was a blacksmith, metal sculptor, author and dowser. Hamish spent years in industrial design and furniture manufacture before sense dawned and he moved to Cornwall to be a blacksmith. He worked with the energy of the earth and planted lots of trees.

Benign Opsimath - exchanged years of global travel and a variety of ophthalmic manufacturing roles for domestic dispensing locally. Determined to be part of a properly functioning society, that genuinely represents everyone. He now lives on the Isle of Wight.

Ann Brocklehurst

Before the age of 40 I thought 'THEY' were responsible for our planet and, being a slow learner, it was an almighty shock to realise that I, too am responsible. After much campaigning on a wide variety of issues I came to the conclusion that only I can change my own behaviour for a more peaceful world. I'm an ex-chemist, ex-primary school teacher, ex-preschool playgroup founder, mother and granny.

We are the core team and we have already been joined by many who want to take part in this exciting journey.

We are looking for people who recognise the urgent need for change, and who are not afraid to come out of their increasingly diminishing comfort zones to help us create a way of thinking based on care, compassion and honest values.

Join us with whatever talents you have to help bring joy and laughter back into the world.

During the years ahead we will manifest that what we focus on. And it will happen faster and faster. That which we think, that which we talk about, that which we fear but also that what we feel joyful about, that which we are thankful for and that which we love will be manifested almost immediately. Choose very carefully what you want to focus on! - Mario and Nathascha
